Best free App Store screenshot generators
What each free App Store screenshot generator lets you export: watermark, slide limit, sizes and account, checked on each vendor's own site.

We're Intenseloop, and we make AppScreen (appscreen.pro), which isn't AppScreens (appscreens.com). Prices and limits below come from each tool's own site, checked in November 2026, with sources at the bottom. Where a site doesn't answer a question, the table says so.
Our pick is AppScreen. You get a panorama on the free plan with no account and no card, and the first 3 slides export clean. Apple says up to three screenshots can appear in search results, so those are the slides that matter most.
"Free" means something different at each of these tools, so the useful question is what you can export at $0.
What each free plan lets you export
AppScreen, our pick
Your whole set is one panorama canvas, so a phone or a gradient crosses the seam between slides. That works on the free plan, where AppScreens counts panoramic backgrounds as a Pro feature.
Free costs $0, with no account and no card, and your work stays in your browser. You get 3 projects, iPhone and Android phone frames, and solid and gradient backgrounds. Exports are upload-ready PNGs per slide at store sizes, or the whole panorama. The first 3 slides of a panorama export clean. Slides after the third carry a watermark on Free, as does every slide of a Pro template or tablet size, and Pro removes it.
Pro is $9 paid once, with no subscription. It adds iPad and Android tablets, patterns, cloud save, version history, share links and agents over MCP.
The 50+ templates show finished sets. The free tools run in your browser too, including a screenshot resizer and a panorama splitter for designs made anywhere. Open the editor and you can export your first set without signing up.
Free with no paid plan
Open Screenshot Generator, at openscrgen.app, is open source under MIT. Its site says "No watermark" and "No export limit", and you don't need an account to design, save locally or export. Local projects live in browser storage, so clearing site data deletes them.
YuzuHub's App Store Screenshot Generator, at yuzu-hub.github.io/appscreen, is also MIT. Its repo is called appscreen, but it has no connection to ours. It auto-saves to browser storage and exports a ZIP. We searched its main app file and the word "watermark" doesn't appear. Its about box calls it "a free vibe coded tool".
AppMockUp Studio, at app-mockup.com, describes itself as a free service with no account. We couldn't find a paid plan. It has panoramic backgrounds, and one device can cross two screenshots. Neither its homepage nor its FAQ mentions a watermark. There's no autosave, so you save a .mockup file or lose the work when the tab closes.
Free with an attribution licence
Screenshots.pro Basic is $0 with all devices, all templates and all editor features, and its homepage pitches panoramic screenshots. The Basic licence requires an attribution link wherever you use the screenshots, App Store and Google Play included, and it suggests the wording "App Store screenshots generated with Screenshots.pro" where links aren't allowed. Its FAQ also answers "Is it free?" with "For now, yes."
Previewed Lite exports unlimited 2D images at 720p under a CC Attribution licence. The commercial licence starts at Plus, $9.99 once for 10 exports. Apple's sizes for recent iPhones start at 1080 pixels wide, so check the output before you plan on Lite for the App Store.
Free with a cap
Launch Shots gives free accounts 1 credit a month, enough to download one full set for one device type, with no watermark. You also get 3 AI generations and 20 assistant messages, once per account. Every template and frame is included. You can try the generator without an account, and you need one to keep the result.
AppScreens lets you create and export up to 5 screens in one project. Its essential sizes are iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium), iPad 13", Android phones and one tablet size. Its help page lists these as Pro features: more than one layer or device per screen, panoramic backgrounds, custom images and rotating the device. You can't export until you remove them, so free exports carry no watermark, but each screen gets one layer and one device. The Free Licence covers your own apps and rules out client work.
AppScreen by Omelas, at appscreen.co, isn't ours either. Free has 50 credits a month and one credit is one PNG, so a 6-screen set in one size costs 6. It allows 10 screens per export, 1 saved project and English only. Its pricing page says no plan adds a watermark.
AppLaunchpad Free has 10 templates, 100 layouts and 70 fonts. Its pricing page says "Pro features with limited Exports" and gives no number or watermark rule, so we can't say what you'd get.
Free with a watermark
ButterKit is a Mac app that needs macOS 26 or later, with no account. Free has unlimited exports with a "Made with ButterKit" mark. Pro is $79 once.
Screenhance Free gives you 3 exports a month as PNG at 1x, with a "Made with Screenhance" mark and every template unlocked. A $6 Launch Pass buys 10 clean image exports over 7 days.
General design tools
Figma Starter has unlimited drafts and templates, and its help page lists one folder and 3 files. You build the set yourself or start from a Community file, such as Median.co's 500+ screenshot templates for iPhone, iPad and Android.
Canva Free lists custom dimensions and PNG export on its pricing page, with 1.6M+ templates against 3.6M+ on Pro. That page doesn't say how premium elements behave on a free export, so check before you build around one.
Questions

Which free generators work without an account? AppScreen, Open Screenshot Generator, AppMockUp Studio, YuzuHub's tool and ButterKit. Screenshots.pro lets you start without one.
Do the free tools cover Google Play? Most do. AppScreen exports Android phone slides at 1080 × 1920 on Free. ButterKit is built for Apple platforms and describes its Android support as "some".
